Divine Creamy White White Chocolate Bar

Nice reasonably thick white chocolate bar, nice mouth feel and taste.

An extremely long lasting and strange combination of after-tastes ruins it though – part too sweet, part something else sour/bitter/unpleasant.

Ritter Sport White Whole Hazelnuts chocolate bar

I should like this – I think – but I don’t.

I don’t think Ritter’s white chocolate is particularly nice – it’s far too crumbly and falls apart when you chew – and the crunchy roasted whole hazelnuts feel more like rice crispies in the mouth than solid nuts.

Lindt Milk Chocolate with Hazelnuts

The combination of milk chocolate and hazelnuts should always work but this time it really doesn’t – and it’s the fault of both parties.

The milk chocolate is too smooth and too soft and insubstantial, and the hazelnuts are chopped into fragments, rather than whole and the have no texture and little flavour. Avoid.

Valor Puro Almendras Dark Chocolate with Almonds

Valor’s dark chocolate bar with whole almonds – I actually quite liked it.

I wasn’t sure the combination of dark chocolate and almonds would work but it does here – it needs the dark chocolate to not be too intense.

Lindt Mint Intense Dark Chocolate

You start with a combination of a chocolate that’s too dark which has had too much mint flavour added, and you’re left with what feels like a never-ending unpleasantly strong mint after-taste.

Avoid.

Seed and Bean Lemon and Cardamom Dark Chocolate

Surprisingly sweet and not bitter dark chocolate bar. Doesn’t hugely taste of either lemon or cardamon – it’s all very subtle and (surprisingly) quite enjoyable with a nice slightly lemony after-taste.

Amedei Toscano Bianco white chocolate bar

A fabulous white chocolate bar, slightly caramel in taste with a nice finish. Lovely break and really solid mouth feel. Unfortunately it’s not particularly cheap, and it’s not particularly easy to find either.

Nestle Swiss Chocolate Brut White

Nice bar of basic white chocolate – it’s thick and chunky and has good mouth feel.

Unfortunately it’s a ‘travel exclusive’ so it’s only available in some airports and other duty-free style stores.
