Ritter Sport Nut Perfection Macadamia Milk Chocolate

Macadamia and chocolate should be a match made in heaven but Ritter Sport’s Nut Perfection Macadamia Milk Chocolate is anything but. The chocolate is too sweet, and the macadamia nut chunks are too small. It should work, but it just doesn’t.

Willie’s Cafe Negro – Dark Chocolate with Coffee

Willie’s Cafe Negro is supposed to be a dark chocolate tasting of ‘smooth sophisticated coffee’. It’s a hard dark chocolate that doesn’t really taste of coffee and is actually quite unpleasant. Had one bite and threw the rest out.

Willie’s El Blanco White Chocolate

I really feel I should like Willie’s chocolate, but I’m always disappointed. I don’t like the slightly greasy mouth feel and strangely spiky crunch of this bar, and while it’s not quite the overpowering taste of condensed milk that some other white chocolate bars, have it’s not that pleasant either. Strangely sweetly sour aftertaste.

Kit Kat White Chocolate Bites

Nasty. I like the Kit Kat Chunky White Chocolate Bars, but these are unpleasant. They’re far far too sweet, too small, and there’s not much bite to them. Avoid.

Lovely Fruity Nutty Crunchy

This should be a great chocolate bar. It has all the ingredients you want – crispy bits, raisins, peanuts, chocolate… but it’s not impressive and not worth £2.25. The chocolate coating’s not thick enough and the whole thing doesn’t have enough bite/chew to it.

Willie’s Hazelnut and Raisin Dark Chocolate Bar

Hazelnut and raisin and dark chocolate? A match made in heaven surely?

But in this bar, this combination absolutely doesn’t work. The raisins and nuts are chopped too finely and are lost in an overpowering dark chocolate which has a surprisingly long bitter after-taste.
