I have over 15 years’ experience creating, leading and delivering high impact innovation programmes for the public and private sectors. I have considerable experience developing and delivering international collaborations, and have raised over £12M of funding over the last decade.
I develop innovative approaches to complex problems, build the organisational foundations and competencies that programmes and organisations need to scale and to succeed. I develop and implement strategic and coherent programmes; work with stakeholders and funders to shape strategies, priorities and delivery models; build, lead and develop teams and individuals; architect robust management, delivery and reporting systems; trouble-shoot systems and programmes; and solve problems.

I was interviewed in the April 2013 edition of Urban Realm magazine for their feature on Smart Cities following Glasgow’s designation as a ‘Smart City‘.
The main things I covered are how UK cities use information, how information will change urban service delivery, and the importance of creating Smart Citizens if we are to use information wisely.
Scotland is an urban country: 70% of Scots live in urban areas. Despite the importance of rural Scotland, the majority of impact of independence will be felt by urban Scots. So what will this impact be? Will there be any? Does anyone care either way?
Just a wee heads up that I’ll be speaking at the 2012 PPA Digital Publishing Conference on Wednesday 26 September in London. The conference theme is ‘Into the Future’, and I’ll be exploring some of the opportunities surrounding the smart cities initiatives for providers of digital data services, designed to raise business efficiency or improve consumer access to public sector content.
